Richard Mofe Damijo:Nollywood seeks special tribunal on piracy
AFRICAN Movie academy award winner and Nigerian born politician, Richard Mofe Damijo, has called on the incoming Buhari led federal government to set up a special tribunal to handle cases of piracy in the Nollywood industry.
He made the call, yesterday, during the first public presentation of a new movie entitled Oloibiri at Silverbird Cinemas, Abuja. The movie, produced by Rightangle Productions is an action thriller mirroring fear, dread and international exploration and governmental responsibility as well as the unseen benefits of desperate hope of the aggrieved militants in the oil rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol, 35, has announced on Tuesday that he will leave the club at the end of the season after a decorated 15-year career at the Camp Nou.

Puyol, who did not reveal whether he will continue playing elsewhere, has been plagued by injuries over the last couple of seasons and has undergone three knee operations.
“At the end of the season I will leave FC Barcelona. The club are aware of this and we are in agreement,” he said.
“We will rescind the final two years of my contract that were still to run.”
Puyol signed a new deal with the club in January last year, but admitted in June that he would not stay if injuries continued to prevent him from playing a significant part on the field.

According to Buhari, he was able to win the presidency after three unsuccessful attempts.

Prophet Jailed 7 Years For Running Out Of Court During Trial.

Prophet Destiny Onwudinjo of Heaven Divine Ministry, Shasha, a suburb of Lagos in western Nigeria, has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine for absconding from court to evade trial.
Presiding Magistrate P.E. Nwaka of Ejigbo Court handed the sentence to Onwudinjo after he pleaded guilty to attempt to escape after he was brought to court for trial.
Prophet Onwudinjo caused a stir at the court recently when he suddenly jumped from the dock and ran out of the court where he was facing criminal charge of fraud and assault.
The prosecutor, Mr Femi Adeleye, and some of the court officials ran after him and re-arrested him along the street of Lagos.

On May 9, the national senior female football team, Super Falcons and their Malian counterparts will lock horns in an all-important 2016 Olympic Games qualifying match at the National Stadium, Abuja. Both teams have become familiar foes having met during the qualifying matches of the 11th All Africa Games (AAG) in September at which the Super Falcons won 9-1 on aggregate.
England’s FA sought black player quotas
Two officials from the Football Association told former England manager Graham Taylor to limit the number of black players in his squad, a new book has claimed.
Taylor, who managed England from 1990 to 1993, has denied the claim, made in ‘Pitch Black: The Story of Black British Footballers’, written by Emy Onuora, the brother of former professional footballer Iffy Onuora.
